“Things Related To Me”
(Classroom Ice-Breaker Activity)
his lesson is for “In-Person” lessons, and may not work very well for an on-line lesson. But there are certainly no rules. And with the technology available — and with the creativity of other teachers out there — perhaps you can adapt it for on-line as well. I don’t know if this activity already has a common name. But I call it…
“Things Related To Me”
(Because That Is Exactly What It Is All About)
Instructions…
- Write and/or Draw about 5 things on the whiteboard that have SOMETHING to do with you
- A good idea might be to have a mix of words, numbers, and pictures, dates, names, etc.
- Inform the students/learners that each thing is, somehow, directly related to you
- The students then have to guess how they are related to you
- Make sure that they are using proper question structure
- You can also let them work in groups to come up with ideas
- Go, in turn, around the class getting people to guess what the “things” are and how they are related to you
- Give them hints if necessary
- You can also put just 1 thing on the board, and then the person who guesses correctly gets to be the next to put something up
- The possibilities of how this can be altered are only limited by your imagination
And That’s That!…
Have An Excellent Day!
