The Letter “A” In The English Alphabet
he Letter “A” is the first Letter in The English Alphabet. It is also the first Vowel in The English Alphabet. As with every Letter in The English Alphabet — The Letter “A” has two different versions in the written form.
These Two Different Versions Are Called: The “Upper-Case” & The “Lower-Case”

(The “Upper-Case” form is also referred to as the “Capital” form of any Letter. However — there is no other correspondent alternative Term for the “Lower-Case” form. But, it is common for Native English Speakers to colloquially refer to it as the “Small” version: “Capital A” & “Small A” — But the Word “Small” is not a proper Grammatical Term.)

n The Common Tongue of The English Language — you will hear that The Letter “A” can be Pronounced In Many Different Ways — depending on what other Letters surround the it — or, sometimes, depending on The Origin Of The Word itself.

The Letter “A” Is Also Used As One Of The Indefinite Articles In Both Traditional Grammar, And The Grammar Of The Common Tongue: “A Word“ — “A Term“ — “A Phrase“

It is used to signify “One” of something — of-which there COULD be many — and is used in-front-of Nouns, & Adjectives which describe Nouns — that start with a Consonant or Consonant Sound. (As demonstrated above.)
